I’ve been away from blogging for about a week – it wasn’t a planned absence. You know – LIFE.
I took some much needed time to grieve the loss of our two senior cats who both happened to pass away a few hours apart on June 5th. Hubby and I don’t have human kids, so that makes our pets even more special to us. They are family in every sense of the word.
We had Oliver and Emma Jean for 16 years and we were so blessed that they lived to 17 and 20. Never in a million years did we think they would live to those ripe old ages. But, it made their passing even more bittersweet. Our babies were best friends right up to the end. So sweet.
I’m back now and doing what I love: writing and searching high and low for design inspiration and boy, do I have some good stuff for you today!
DON’T POO-POO WALMART JUST YET …
One of my favorite things to do is cruise the Internet and see what kind of new design products are out there. I have always had such a passion for well-designed products no matter what they are. And it makes me pee my pants a little when I find something that also happens to be budget-friendly.
I love products that show the thoughtfulness that went into the design stage. For a long time, IKEA was my go-to source to find products that were cleverly designed, yet aesthetically pleasing.
Then Target decided to crash the design party with their freaking fabulous in-house brands that have been killin’ it with their home decor products this past year.
And then imagine my surprise when Walmart started introducing some really fabulous home decor products to their online shopping lineup. You can now buy tires, hemorrhoid cream AND a gorgeous velvet couch from the same place. Go figure.
